The mineral waters of Levico are unique around the world and were treasured back in the 16th century, when they began bubbling up to the surface at 1,582 meters in elevation from the Dolomites rocks. These waters are classified as arsenical and chalybeate springs due to the presence of arsenic and high iron content of the water, components that can impart a sedative effect on the nervous system through an anti-oxidant mechanism.
